Circular economy: Seares smart products for greener ports

Seares supports ports and marinas in the energy transition process with its innovative solutions

Livorno, April 2022. Seares contributes to making boats and ports greener by supporting them in facing the challenges of energy transition. The new rules on production circularity, established in March 2020 by the European Commission, require adaptation by 2030 with the adoption of practices and tools based on the principles of the circular economy. A new approach geared towards sustainability, efficient and integrated resource management and cleaner shipping.

The circular economy is a conscious and inclusive strategy of sustainable development based on innovative business models aimed at process efficiency and resource enhancement within symbiotic systems.

“From the very beginning, Seares has conceived and designed its products with circularity in mind. The choice of materials used is an emblem of this: steel alloys can be re-melted to create new Seadamps, or the oil is produced from over 70% natural vegetable sources and is certified 100% biodegradable. At this important time for our planet, Seares is a key player, offering the technology to concretely support the ecological transition, together with all those who wish to embrace the Seares vision for a truly more eco-sustainable world”.

Seares has developed innovative solutions for anchoring and mooring which, thanks to an all-Italian and internationally patented technology, transform the wave motion resulting from the oscillation of boats and floating structures into clean energy to keep on-board batteries charged and for the entire electrical system of ports and marinas, which can also be applied to other industries such as aquaculture, floating solar and offshore wind power. In addition, Seares technology, thanks to the joint use of IoT systems and artificial intelligence, is able, by monitoring all anchored and moored systems, to provide an overall view in real time of the system in which it is installed, improving efficiency, safety and reducing maintenance costs in full respect of the marine environment, also thanks to the use of environmentally friendly oils from renewable sources in a logic of complete circularity.
